Cards

“Tearing” is a technical term mostly used in regards to smart cards or chip cards, since LaundryCards use Mag-Stripe technology it does not apply. LaundryCards are constructed from a high quality PVC and are the same thickness and material as the common credit card. Also the magnetic stripe is what’s called a “High-Coercivity” mag-stripe or “Hi-Co”, which is very durable even in harsh environments.

Card Concepts Inc. is committed to providing the highest quality of service to its customers. The system has been designed so that 90% of the service can be provided via phone dial in control. This requires that the system have a dedicated phone line installed, servicing the system remotely allows us to service you quickly and efficiently. If a computer needs physical service during the warranty period we have purchased a on-site service agreement with DELL Computer to handle situations. The response time may vary from area to area; on-site service is never more than 24 hours away. Also because all of the components are modular they can easily be changed and installed by just about anyone! No special programming or technical skills are necessary just a few common hand tools allow parts to be changed easily. Our technical support via phone call will always be available during YOUR business hours. We realize that self-service Laundromats operate 7 days a week and sometimes-over night. We are committed to offering tailored support for your specific location, we are happy to discuss what your needs may be and come up with an ideal and comfortable solution.

The LaundryCard system comes with a 2/3 year warranty. All parts and components are covered for 2 years and the Computers, Cables, and Cabinets are covered for 3 years. We realize that this system will be operating for much longer than the warranty period, therefore we also will be offering a repair/replace program on card readers after the warranty has expired to help keep owners servicing costs down.

LaundryCard card readers are networked together using the highest quality category 5 (CAT5) cable. This allows all of the sales and income information to be reported centrally without going to each machine. All of the reports can be generated at the store and printed on the included Laser Printer! No separate computer is required! If you have a computer at home or in the office with a modem and an Internet browser you may also dial in view and print the reports remotely!

If in the unlikely event that the primary computer was to fail the second computer is an exact replica of the primary and can automatically take complete control of the store’s operation. Readers

LaundryCard card utilizes magnetic stripe cards which can only be read by physically swiping the card across a reader. This “friction” style action is very reliable and is currently used in many self-service gas stations where credit cards are accepted at the pump.

Readers

Because readers must have an opening to allow the card to be inserted no reader will ever be 100% waterproof. LaundryCard readers have been designed to be as water and impact resistant as possible. Our readers are the only card reader available that uses a neoprene gasket to help seal the elements out of the electronics of the reader. Also the LCD display is covered and sealed with a polycarbonate material (used in bullet proof glass) to also resist water.

Yes, The reader housings were custom designed by our engineers for specific use on laundry equipment. The reader has debris openings that allow foreign objects to pass through and fall out of the reader, in most cases the best way to clear an object from the reader is to just insert a card!

The entire reader was designed to be very durable, we feel so confident that the reader will perform that all readers are warranted for two (2) full years. Also all LaundryCard readers are exactly the same, which allows storeowners to swap readers between any types of equipment.

LaundryCard utilizes a version of Windows called Windows 2000. It is a network based operating system built on NT technologies that has a long history as being a very stable, secure and powerful.

We call it “Time of Day Pricing” it allows you to reduce or increase the vend price of any type of equipment at any time of the day on any day of the week. You have the ability to adjust the pricing on equipment up to 3 times in one day; this can be unique for each day of the week as well. LaundryCard is one of the only systems that will allow you to raise and lower the vend price on a piece of equipment within the same day! This allows you to raise the price when demand is high and lower it when the demand is less; this flexibility allows you to maximize income during your peak periods of business.

Yes, all of the systems many features are customizable to your business practices. All of the system customization can be done at the store or remotely from a remote computer. The readers are controlled by the host computers therefore can also be configured remotely. The entire system has been designed to be very easy to use, very little or no computer experience is necessary to take advantage of all of LaundryCards many features.
