In Memory of Richard C. Adams
September 27th 1925 - April 4th 2011
On April 4th of 2011, A C Power Company lost our founder and beloved
friend, father, grandfather and mentor Richard "Dick" Adams.
Richard started in the industry as owner of Adams Cleaners in
the 1950's. He took a small corner dry cleaners and developed
it into a commercial entity with multiple locations and a fleet of
pickup and delivery trucks. His innovations and creativity
made Adams Cleaners one of the largest and most successful dry
cleaning operations in Philadelphia.
In 1975, after selling his dry cleaning business he
transitioned to equipment distributor. A C Power Company was
founded and began providing the Wascomat equipment line to Eastern
Pennsylvania. For the next 35 years Richard grew A C Power
into a full service commercial laundry equipment distributorship
adding both a parts and service department to compliment his
achievements in sales, as well as expanding the companies territory.

Throughout his tenure Richard assisted in the development of
over 200 coin laundromats and dry cleaning plants and serviced over
1000 customers across 4 states. His dedication to the success
of his customers was unmatched and he made A C Power into one of the
most successful commercial laundry distributors in North America.
Richard retired in 2010 and transferred ownership of A C
Power to his son-in-law and daughter, George and Sue Gibbs. His
commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction remains at
the core of A C Power's business philosophy today.
Richard's knowledge, passion and leadership will be sorely
missed by his friends and family here at A C Power Company.
